Instnt automatically applies velocity checks to all production workflows. These checks identify repeated instances of the same information with the purpose of blocking any malicious attempts to circumvent our identity verification process. Type of Checks
Instnt uses multiple checks to prevent fraudulent activity in its identity verification process. These checks are applied to different parts of the submitted form, including:
- IP Address: Transactions will be rejected if the same IP address is used more than three times within 24 hours or if it has been flagged as fraudulent.
- Name: Transactions will be marked for REVIEW if the same name is used more than once within 24 hours and will be rejected if the same name is used more than twice within 24 hours or if it has been flagged as fraudulent.
- Phone: Transactions will be marked for REVIEW if the same phone number is used more than once within 24 hours and will be rejected if the same phone number is used more than twice within 24 hours or if it has been flagged as fraudulent.
- Address: Transactions will be marked for REVIEW if the same address is used more than once within 24 hours and will be rejected if the same address is used more than twice within 24 hours or if it has been flagged as fraudulent.
- Email: Transactions will be marked for REVIEW if the same email address is used more than once within 24 hours and will be rejected if the same email is used more than twice within 24 hours or if it has been flagged as fraudulent. Note that aliased emails count as multiples of the same email.
- Device ID: Transactions will be marked for REVIEW if the same device is used more than once within 24 hours and will be rejected if the same device is used more than five times within 24 hours or if it has been flagged as fraudulent.
- Transaction ID: Transactions will be rejected if the same transaction ID is used more than twice within 24 hours. Note that transaction ID checks are only for transaction resubmission. For more information on the thresholds for these checks, please contact Instnt Support.
